This month we’re having fun with two “in-process” Man-caves.
Check out images and highlights below of what we have in the works.

 We salute men in general; the world wouldn’t be the same without them;
for sure ours wouldn’t be without the men of Accent Truss!

Man cave according to Wikipedia:
“A man cave or manspace, is a male sanctuary, such as a specially equipped garage, spare bedroom, media room, den, or basement”

mancaves1If only Wayne and Garth had known about us back then, they could've tricked out their space even more 80's fabulous than it already was!

mancave2Man cave – according to Urban Dictionary:
“A room, space, corner or area of a dwelling that is specifically reserved for a male person to be in a solitary condition, away from the rest of the household in order to work, play, involve himself in certain hobbies, activities without interruption. This area is usually decorated by the male that uses it without interference from any female influence.”

Let’s be honest what we craft is inherently masculine; don’t get us wrong it’s beautiful and visually stunning stuff but for sure it’s manly. So when two different men called us recently asking for help with their man caves and how to incorporate timber into the designs. Jim (owner, head expert, and designer) jumped at the opportunity.  Any good man would, right?  You got to support your fellow man! Both projects are in progress now; raw timber for both will arrive in early May and that’s when the in-shop crafting process will begin. The images above should give you a feel for what’s in the works; Jim’s sketches show what cool spaces they each will be. Also shown here is a page from the technical shop drawings. The shop drawing process is one we don’t often highlight but it’s a crucial part of what we do. It is the bridge between design and execution and we take great care with the process. No cuts happen to the timber without full review of the shop drawings and final sign off from the customer.

Here’s to all “Real Men” and especially to “The Real Men of Accent Truss”

What’s the real measure of a man? Taking Care of your responsibilities,
going after what you want with a vengeance, staying true and
authentic no matter what – all while looking damn good doing it!”
Marvin Church

See them here looking good while working and playing hard.

Preston Starnes, Mark Scrivner, Cory Emerson, Jim Diffenderfer, & Juston Brown.

The Woman of Accent Truss, Owner Erin Diffenderfer, appreciates all of them…
but chose to attend a chick flick while they golfed. To each their own right?!

And…

“Behind every successful man there is a woman!”

mancave-dividerDrum roll for this months’ DUST DESIGN…

Gotta say it; our sawdust is looking pretty darn good,
strong and manly here!
