Find Your Timber Style

April 27, 2015

Many people think of timber frame as having a similar feel to a log cabin, when in fact, timber can be incorporated into most any style home, building, or structure. As our Head Expert and owner Jim Diffenderfer says, “You could have a horse standing in the middle of one of our projects and a grand piano in another.” Here, we’ve chosen a few highlights of the many styles we’ve worked with over the years.

A few things to keep in mind when deciding what feel your timber should have:
  • What style furniture are you attracted to most? This will help you determine what you’re already drawn to, and we can craft work to reflect your taste precisely.
  • What is the tone, mood, and feel you want your project to have and to set? This can help decide the details your timber work should include.
  • Your timber doesn’t have to be limited to one style. You may have a formal living room in which you would like a very detailed truss, but a study or bonus room where your timber can be crafted to create a more casual feel.
